Once in a while, a new month brings with it new changes. A new upgraded OpenVZ host server using Dual AMD Opteron 2354s (total of 8 cores!) has been set up and after we finalise our restructuring, will house all VZ4 and above VPSes. For the rest of 2010, we will be continuing our restructuring and provision a new server for KVM as well. As we are continually expanding the number of servers, we have also started work on a new control panel (we call it Unified ConceptLane Control Panel, or uCLCP) that will act as the centralised location for the management of any subscription, whether it be a hosting plan, OpenVZ VPS, or KVM VDS. For the time being, only OpenVZ subscribers will be migrated to this new control panel. Next in line would be the KVM VDSes, expected to be in October.

Unfortunately, we suffered a spate of outages with our OpenVZ host server, due to two hardware failures one after another (PSU followed by harddisk), and then a possible kernel problem. All VPS customers will get a month's compensation in return for the poor uptime this month.
We hope this spate of outages will not negate our previous record of more than a year's server uptime, and we will continue to monitor closely the server until we are absolutely sure the server is back to its rock-stable best.

We are currently not accepting new sign-ups for our Windows Hosting Plans while we restructure our VDS to upgrade to the newer WebsitePanel, the new open-source derivation of the immensely popular DotNetPanel.

We have improved our OpenVZ backup script, such that it will cease commencing backups on VPSes once it has exceeded 0700 GMT+8 during its weekly backup routine on Sun/Mon midnight (which will be shifted to Sat/Sun midnight). The remaining VPSes that are pending backup will be archived the next midnight.
At the same time, our ubuPanel hosting backups will be stored entirely on an external non-public NAS drive, and has been bugfixed to include emails and email accounts in the archive. This is in no way a reversal on our privacy policy of not maintaining backups of emails - we remain committed to our customers' privacy and all emails stored will not be extracted unless we receive authorisation or instructions to do so. Emails not stored on the server (downloaded to email clients without keeping copies) or deleted via the Webmail interface will not be available for backup.

Our KVM VDS host server has been upgraded to use 2 x AMD Quad Core Opteron™ 8347 processors (it's now an eight/octo core server!), and should provide a better experience for all KVM VDS customers. Should demand further rise, we have the necessary hardware to upgrade the memory and the harddisk drives for greater capacity, or we may simply opt to deploy a second server and not pack the servers too densely.
Our rack is also tidier, and will be even tidier after we complete the final stage of rackmount servers rearrangement.
We will soon be distributing rackmount server chassises, as well as hotswap "3-in-2" and "4-in-3" harddisk drive bay modules. Standby for more information, specifications and most importantly, pictures.

After having deployed our KVM server for more than 6 months and finally getting a very good appraisal of its stability and resource loads, we are adjusting the rates for the various KVM plans slightly as we will not consider overselling.
