We have finally recovered from one of the worst outages the industry has seen in recent years, going by today's standards. While not wanting to appear as though we are shifting responsibility, this 3-day outage beginning on Tues, 25 Nov, 8:00pm and lasting till Fri, 28 Nov, 10:00pm was entirely caused by our upstream network provider, Intermedia, and their dispute with Verizon, the core uplink node. To a certain extent, we were collaterally damaged. We will be informing all our customers of the findings, planned compensation, and planned measures for the future, after we have commenced discussions with Intermedia.

Once again, we are truly truly apologetic for this unforeseen and totally uncalled for downtime.

Due to our registrar increasing their domain name registration and renewal rates for .com/.net/.org/.biz/.info TLDs, we have no choice but to raise our rates as well, to S$25.00 (S$26.75 after GST if applicable) per domain name per year. However, on a brighter note, the rates for .com.sg/.net.sg/.org.sg have fallen to S$50.00 ($53.50 after GST). These rate increments will take immediate effect.

Despite some minor hiccups that occurred after the migration, it was an overall success. All web hosting customers have their subscription plans boosted with additional disk space allocation! Please refer to our Web Hosting Packages for details of our revised hosting packages.

Meanwhile, we will be finalising plans to make available our in-house developed control panel to the open source community under one of the open source licenses, in order for the control panel to (hopefully) benefit from other contributors.

We are now official resellers of the popular control panels cPanel and DirectAdmin. Pricing for standalone servers and VPSes are now shown in their respective sections. We may not be the cheapest ones around, but customers will at least be able to get some form of support and help from us when needed.

Yet another network outage due to Verizon, our network's core uplink node suffering an outage which affected accessibility to our network from certain parts of the Internet. Commencing at 12:30am, it was resolved at approximately 8:00am, making it a total of 7 hours 30 minutes outage. We will be waiting for the report from Verizon before determining our follow-up actions.

Once again, we offer our sincere apologies for the outage, and thank all who expressed understanding that this was beyond our control.

For the record, our network provider suffered a protracted network outage that stretched from 13 Jun 17:00 - 16 Jun 11:00. We apologise again to all our customers, and have, as a show of our professionalism and goodwill, offered one month's worth of hosting fees in credits redeemable upon re-contracting. We thank all our customers for their patience throughout the outage, and we look forward to your continued support and trust in our service standards.

New anti-spam measures have been put in place with the deployment of the Anti-Spam-SMTP-Proxy (ASSP). Our trial runs have shown a reduction of more than 70% in the amount of spam received daily. ASSP incorporates all the features widely implemented by other mail providers, and is a very useful tool in the fight against spam.

At the same time, we have reduced our web hosting rates, AND doubled the capacity for all existing and new customers! E.g. if you have subscribed to our Lite plan, you will now enjoy 500MB of webspace AND 500MB of email storage space. For more details, please click here. However, in order to offer more usable space, we will be reducing the number of backups kept for Business and Professional subscribers to 2. Currently, that is equivalent to backups of the prior 2 days, but we soon switch to keeping one per week (to be stored on Sunday) and one prior day's backup, for greater fallback flexibility.

We have finally completed the revamp of our dated and pieced-together website. A few other sections are still under construction, but we felt it was important to get the new look up first. We have also re-aligned our pricing, so all existing customers will benefit from the improved packages. Web hosting customers, you will be pleased to find that the diskspace for the web hosting packages have been doubled!

We have implemented more anti-spam features for our mail server to reduce the amount of spam and flag spoofed emails:

• SBL (Spamhaus Block List) lookups
• detection of blacklisted words and their common variants
• detection of emails with invalid dates
• examination of content in URL links contained within email
• detection of sender and/or URL spoofing
• most notably, a combination of SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and the above technologies to reject mails

External users attempting to send mail to our hosted domains and have had your mails rejected, please send an email to admin@conceptlane.com and provide all necessary details (date and time sent and the error message by our mail server).
